The Interact/Rotaract Orientation 2024/25 for the Rotary Club of Colombo’s sponsored clubs was successfully held on September 7, 2024, at the Lanka Hospitals PLC Auditorium, Colombo 05.
The event welcomed newly appointed board members from the Interact Clubs of Colombo, Bishop’s College, Royal College, Muslim Ladies’ College, St. Paul’s Milagiriya, and Stafford International School, as well as the Rotaract Clubs of Colombo, Kotelawala Defense University, and Colombo Regent, along with their teachers-in-charge.
Participants received a warm welcome from Youth Committee Chair Rtn. Laurel Mathews. The sessions, led by President Nimal Ratnayake, were lively, informative, and engaging. President Ratnayake introduced the Rotary Club of Colombo, Rtn. Andrew Samuel led an Ice Breaker activity and Youth Committee Secretary Rtn. Dusty Alahakoon conducted an Interact Quiz. Rtn. PP Sarav Soundarajan presented on the Four-Way Test, PE Rtn. Aruna Fernando discussed Budgeting and Financial Management, and Rtn. Asangi Ratnayake shared tips on delivering impactful presentations for the upcoming District Governor’s Official Visit (DGOV). Certificates of Participation were awarded to all attendees.
Additionally, Rtn. PP Nandana Kanakaratna, District Chair of Vocational Services for RID 3220, conducted the district project “Career Me,” providing valuable career guidance to the Interactors and Rotaractors.
As Sri Lanka’s oldest and largest Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Colombo has been hosting this annual orientation to mentor new board members, focusing on leadership, and fellowship, and equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead their clubs effectively.
