Rotary Club of Colombo Holds Its 97th Annual General Meeting
New Leadership Elected as the Club Moves Toward Its Historic Centennial Year. The Rotary Club of Colombo successfully held its 97th Annual General Meeting on 18 December 2025 at the iconic London Grill, marking another significant step in the Club’s distinguished journey of service and leadership.
During the proceedings, the Board for the Rotary Year 2026–27 was formally elected. The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of:
- Rtn. Azad Mansoor as the 98th President (RY 2026–27)
- Rtn. Shanaz Sahabdeen as the 99th President (RY 2027–28)
A moment of historic pride was shared by all members with the election of Rtn. Naqeeb Hussain as the Centennial President, who will assume office during the landmark Rotary Year 2028–29, guiding the Club into its 100th year of service.
Following the AGM, members gathered for the traditional Post AGM Cocktails, graciously hosted by President Rtn. Aruna Fernando and President Elect Rtn. Azad Mansoor. The fellowship evening took place at the stunning Moonwalk, Lotus Tower Colombo (25th Floor), offering a memorable setting to celebrate camaraderie and the Club’s continued commitment to “Service Above Self.”
